COLLEGES OF EDUCATION COMMENDS NCCE, EXPRESSES ZEAL TO ESTABLISH EARLY GRADE READING CENTER
Education remains the cornerstone of any nation hence, the President Muhammadu Buhari’s Administration has been unrelenting in the pursuit of increasing access to Education.
This assertion was made by the honorable Minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu in his keynote address during the 24th combine convocation ceremony and the conferment of the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) to Eight Thousand seven hundred and Seventy-Seven (8,777) graduands of Federal College of Education Abeokuta held on the 3rd of October 2019.
Mallam Adamu Adamu who was represented at the event by the Executive Secretary National Commission for Colleges of Education(NCCE) Professor Bappa-Aliyu Muhammadu Congratulates all the graduands in whose honor the ceremony was held and rejoice with them, their parents, guardians, friends and well-wishers.
Professor Bappa-Aliyu Muhammadu charged the graduands to be a good Ambassadors of the College, stressing that FCE Abeokuta is known for excellence both in character and in learning, he thereby wish the graduands well in their noble chosen profession of teaching but meanwhile, advise them to see themselves as a young entrepreneur who are capable of becoming self-employed or employers of labour because Government is no longer the sole Provider of Employment.
The Executive Secretary also commended the tireless efforts of the College Governing council, the Provosts, Management and the entire staff for making the historic occasion a reality
In his Address the Provost Federal College of Education Abeokuta Dr. Ayodele Adetayo Ajayi welcome all invited guests to the landmark celebration of another set of Academically viable and morally sound graduands having acquired deep understanding of the subjects’ contents as well as the technical know-how to make them outstanding Educators.
Dr. Ajayi said the set of graduands (8,777) being conferred with, “The Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE)” have been trained through the full time, Part-time, and Sandwich programs in five Academic calendar year; 2013/2014, 2014/2015, 2015/2016, 2016/2017, and 2017/2018 spreading
Meanwhile in a commendable note, the provost lauded the leadership style of the Executive Secretary National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) Professor Bappa-Aliyu Muhammadu, testifying that NCCE, under the leadership of the executive secretary has not only sustained high quality supervisory role of the colleges of education in Nigeria, but has also consistently provided a strong support to the system, adding that the Executive Secretary’s role at maintaining peace in Colleges of Education campuses is quite unprecedented.
EXECUTIVE SECRETARY NCCE COMMISSION’S LANDMARK PROJECT IN FCE ABEOKUTA
The Executive Secretary National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) Professor Bappa-Aliyu Muhammadu has commended the giant feat of infrastructural development recorded in the Federal College of Education Abeokuta.
The Executive Secretary gave the commendation during the official launching of some landmark project executed under the amiable leadership of the college provost Dr. Ayodele Adetayo Ajayi on the 2nd and 3rd of October 2019 respectively.
Professor Bappa-Aliyu Muhammadu stressed that conducive learning and teaching environment is key to quality Education. He then however employs the college Management to ensure better and proper use of the facility.
Meanwhile, the project commissioned are; Early childhood care, Education/ Primary Education complex, College Gallery Building, and College Conference Hall. others are Water Treatment Plant, Chief Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo (GCFR) Vocational Building (OBJ Building) and the College Theater Art Complex
